Ganesh Chaturthi is near its celebration time of the year and also a time to prepare some very delicious and Ganesh Ji’s favorite Modak.

So here we go following is the easy and step-by-step process for Modak Recipe.

Preparation of dow for Modak

  • take 2 cups of maida in a large bowl
  • add 1 cup of flour to it
  • mix well while adding 1/2 cup of ghee
  • mix well so that it forms a ladoo shape while pressing between hands
  • now we will need this mixture into a medium dow
  • by adding some water to it
  • cover it with a cloth and let it rest for 20 minutes

Preparation of filling for Modak

  • heat deshi ghee in a pan
  • add shredded coconut to it and fry for 5 min approx or till light golden brown
  • take out this mixture on a plate and let it cool for a few minutes
  • to this add jaggery cut into small pieces or meshed
  • add elichi powder to it
  • to this add broken cashew nuts
  • add chironji, almonds, and kishmis to this and mix well
  • our filling is ready

Preparation of Modak

  • now make small puri from the dow, we have prepared earlier
  • tale some filling and place it in the middle of this puri
  • add some water to the edges of this puri using your fingure
  • this is required so the edges stick togather well
  • firstly join two sides
  • then join the other two sides making a potli or a bag kind off
  • then stick all sides together while giving a little twist to it
  • make the rest of Modak using the same method
  •  now heat oil in a pan
  • keep the flame to medium
  • fry them in the pan, a few pieces at a time
  • fry them till they start turning golden brown
