first of all lets have a look at what all ingredients are required to prepare crispy jalebi.

there are two parts in preparation of jalebi first is preparing sugar syrup to dip the jalebi and second is jalebi paste.

jalebi sugar syrup

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 pinch kesar
1/4 teaspoon elaichi powder
  • add sugar to water in a pot
  • boil this mixture until on medium heat
  • when it starts to thicken a bit
  • take it out in a spoon and let it cool
  • take it in between your thumb and finger
  • if it forms 1 string our sugar syrup is ready
  • else boil for a while and repeat the above process.
  • to this syrup add kesar and elaichi.
  • remove from flame and keep it aside.

jalebi recipe ingredients

1 cup all purpose flour (maida)
1 table spoon corn flour
1 pinch of food colour (yellow)
1/2 cup curd
1/2 cup water
1/2 tea spoon baking soda
1 tea spoon lemon juice
oil or ghee as per choice

 

  • add maida, corn flour and food colour in a bowl and mix well
  • now add curd and again mix it all up
  • to this mixture add 1/2 cup of water and mix well
  • while mixing keep in mind to remove all the lumps
  • jalebi batter should of thick flowing consistency
  • if required add some more water to reach required consistency
  • now beat the batter in one direction for few minutes to make it smooth
  • so our jalebi batter is ready

how to pour jalebi

this is one of the most important part of crispy jalebi recipe making.

  • take a shallow pan, pour ghee or oil
  • heat it on full flame, once hot change flame to medium
  • now take the jalebi batter in a sauce dispenser or
  • take a empty milk packet open it from one side and make a small hole on other side corner, our jalebi dispenser is ready
  • now pore the jalebi batter in the pan making circles
  • small or large as per your choice
  • fry by flipping it, until it’s golden brown from both sides
  • thke it out from pan and immediately dip it into the sugar syrup
  • keep it in the syrup for 1 minute and then remove them
  • our crispy homemade jalebi is ready to be served

you can serve hot jalebi’s with curd or top it up with malai, many a times jalebi is also served with rabri.
